"Jam (Turn It Up)" is a single released by American television personality Kim Kardashian. The song is for charity purposes, and Kardashian confirmed that she will not be releasing any albums. The song was first premiered on March 2, 2011 during On Air with Ryan Seacrest. The song was also released to iTunes on March 2, 2011, a portion of the proceeds from the sales of the song will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.[3] The single made its television premiere during the March 6 episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York. It reached #57 on the iTunes Top Songs chart and #2 on the Top Dance Songs.

Music video

The video for "Jam (Turn It Up)" was filmed in January 2011 by director Hype Williams but never released. The video also featured a special appearance by Kanye West.[4] Some behind-the-scenes archive footage from the video were shown in ads for Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Season 6. According to Kim's sister, Khloé Kardashian It [the video] was never meant to be played publicly." She continues, "I've seen it. It's to die for. Her body is banging, baby. [...] The song was for charity; it wasn't for her to have a recording deal. [It was] something she just wanted to be for herself and for fun, so the video she made just for herself, so back off guys".[5]

Critical reception

The song received negative reception from critics and the public. Jim Farber, writing for the Daily News, called the song a "dead-brained piece of generic dance music, without a single distinguishing feature," and suggested that the single made Kardashian the "worst singer in the reality TV universe."[6]
